Soran Üniversitesi Doğu Kütüphane Binası kampüs ara ulaşım yolunun belirlediği yamacın üzerinde hafif eğimle kampüsün Doğu tarafında konumlanmaktadır.
Yapının yol kotundan devem ederek algılanan uzun ve belirgin kütlesi, yapının bir kütüphane yapısı olabileceği izlenimini büyük ölçüde vermektedir.
Alt kottan gelen ve hafif eğimle öğrencileri içine alan bu iri kütle, zemin katını tamamen açarak büyük bir kamusal alan yaratmakta ve yapı etrafındaki eğimle harmanlanarak farklı teraslar oluşturmaktadır. Yapının kütüphane bölümü olabildiğince yüksek tutulmuş ön ve yan cephesi eşsiz topoğrafya manzarasına hakim olacak şekilde tasarlanmıştır.
Soran Universitesi, oldukça derin bir kanyonun yamacında, zor bir topografyada ve hemen her yönden dramatic bir ufka ve manzaraya hakim bir alanda yeni kampus master planını yapmak için Avusturya merkezli Chalabi Architects & Partners’ı görevlendirmiştir. Üniversitenin tasarım süresince ortaya koyduğu ihtiyaç programı sonucunda ortaya çıkan toplam 600.000m2 kapalı inşaat alanına sahip yapılar, 4M Salalı Architects ve rggA işbirliğinde, masterplan aşamasında kabul edilen ilkeler göz önüne alınarak projelendirilmektedir. Şu anda kampus içi yolların inşaatına ve altyapı çalışmalarına başlanmıştır.
Bu kapsamda rggA Mimarlık, Hukuk Fakültesi, Mühendislik Fakültesi ve Laboratuvarları, Fen Bilimleri ve Laboratuvarları, Doğu Kütüphanesi ve 4 adet yurt binasının Mimari Avan, Kesin ve Uygulama Projeleri Aşamalarını gerçekleştirmektedir.

Soran University East Library Building, Soran
The Soran University East Library Building is located on the east side of the campus with a slight slope on the hillside of the campus.
The long and distinct mass of the building, which is perceived by the road elevation, gives the impression that the structure can be a library structure.
This large mass that comes from the lower level and incorporates students with a slight slope, opens the ground floor completely, creates a large public space and blends with the slope around the structure and forms different terraces. The library mass of the building is designed to be as high as possible and to offer a unique topography view.
Soran University has appointed Austria-based Chalabi Architects & Partners to make a new campus master plan in a difficult topography and in an area with a dramatic horizon and landscape in almost all directions, by the slope of a very deep canyon. With a total closed construction area of 600.000m2 revealed as a result of the needs program made during the design process by the university, the buildings are projected by the cooperation between 4M Salalı Architects and rggA in accordance with the principles adopted at the stage of master plan. Currently, construction of campus roads and infrastructure works are started.

In this context, rgg Architects carries out the Architecture Preliminary, Final and Application Projects of the Faculty of Law, faculty of Engineering and Laboratories, Physical Science and Sci. Labs, East Library and 4 dormitory buildings.
